Lily Grace really go into hunting for Easter eggs this year. She left the Easter Bunny some carrots to eat. He left her a big, pink basket filled with goodies. Then, off to hunt the eggs! She found every one of them. I love spending the holidays with my little angel. It is so much fun watching her experience all of the holiday fun!
We went on our annual zoo trip with Linsay, Ethan, D'arci, Mavanee, Krista and Landry. It was so crowded! After lunch it was so packed the we had a hard time looking at the animals. We had a good time but, I think we are going to have to change our annual trip to a different time. Lily Grace and I had our picture taken by the elephants again. We take our picture by the elephants each year.
Lily Grace loves bubbles! I had a good time watching her scream and chase the bubbles. It is interesting how even the simple things make children happy. I love watching her discover new things!
My friend Michelle offered me a chance to write about 5 things that I am passionate about. So...here I go...
1. Being a wife
I have been so blessed to have a wonderful, christian husband. I dreamed, wished and prayed that God would send me an amazing christian man to spend my life with. I waited for a long time. I was 28 when I meet Travis. On April 16, 2004, Travis and I had our first date. On August 7, 2004 he asked me to be his wife. We were married on July 2, 2005. We are about to celebrate 5 years of marriage. We have had our ups and downs but, I couldn't imagine my life without Travis by my side.
2. Being a mom
When I was a little girl and you would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say a mommy. God blessed me with an amazing little girl. She has shown me a different kind of love; one that is indescribable. I love spending time with her and watching her learn new things every day. She teaches me something new nearly every day. Being a mom can be hard work but, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
3. Decorating
I really enjoy decorating our home. If I wasn't so passionate about teaching, I think I would really love decorating people's homes for a living! I love making my home a cozy, welcoming place for my family and friends. Whenever I visit other people's homes or go shopping I am always looking for ideas to make my home more inviting to the eye. So, be on the watch when I visit your home. I may be jotting down ideas for my own home!
4. Teaching
I am able to work and help sculpt the lives of eight year old children everyday. I teach second grade in an amazing school. As I have said several times before, I would love to be a stay at home mom but, God has other plans for me. He needs me to help my 22 students learn each day. I am blessed that he has faith in me and is able to use me to help influence the lives of one of his most precious gifts.
5. Family and Friends
God has blessed me with a strong, christian family. We support one another and love spending time together. I also have amazing friends who care about me. We can laugh and cry together. Both help me be a better christian woman.
Last night we had to make Lily Grace's baby bed into a big girl bed. She tried to climb out last night while I was putting her to bed. It was a fast decision and I wasn't ready for it. It was bitter sweet. I was sad to see yet another piece of her baby stage change but, excited for her because she reached another milestone in her life. I was so proud of her. She did very well in her bed for her first night. She stayed in bed all night long. I don't know if she was too sure of her new bed at first. She wanted to sleep in mommy's bed. After reading to her again and saying our prayers, I convinced her to sleep in her new bed. She is just growing up too fast!
We had a blast these past two days. I took a "mental health day" on Thursday and school was closed on Friday. Travis took vacation for the week. Thursday was such a beautiful day. I don't think I have ever seen it snow all day. This is the most snow I have ever experienced. I am so glad that Lily Grace is having the chance to see and experience snow. She did not want to have anything to do with it on Thursday. I don't think she liked the snow actually falling down on her. She kept saying, "it going to get me." We decided to take her to Peter Piper Pizza. It was great because there was hardly any people there. She liked trying to play the games. She enjoyed playing in the snow on Friday. We build a Minnie Mouse snowman. She had a blast! I just love when we are able to spend time together as a family.
Lily Grace said her swing set was dirty because of all the snow on it. She still wanted to play on it.
